上海市剧院1935年成立于上海。主办人为潘公展。

介绍

剧院成立不久，就演出了张道落编的《摩登夫人》，内容为号召妇女来到厨房，被评论界批评为“假文明戏”。以后又排演《西施》，田汉指出该剧有曲线救国倾向。
